The weather this week felt about as far removed from fall weather as possible, but looking at the vegetables definitely is suggesting the approach of fall. I have started pulling my dry beans and hanging them up to finish drying, and the first winter squashes are starting to show their mature colours. I expect I will harvest the first of those soon.
For now, though, it’s still summer vegetables: lots of half-runner beans, tomatoes, peppers, etc. Well, weather permitting. The half-runners are already picked, but the peppers and a few other things remain to be picked and the weather this evening is rather stormy. So treat the list below as extra tentative. — Sydney
